To the LBD delegates:
The Looking Beyond Disasters – Youth Online Community (LBD-YOC) is an online space that gathers all active youth who have participated in each UNESCO Looking Beyond Disaster Youth Forum. This blog shall be presented as an online journal of activities and events that each LBD Youth Delegate has been involved in towards the betterment of their fellow people and of nature, as a whole. This blog will feature updates regarding the improvements and accomplishments of the youth action plans that each participating LBD Delegate has committed on working to. The list of these action plans, which were generated in the 1st UNESCO LBD Youth Forum in New Zealand and the one in the 2nd UNESCO LBD Youth Forum in Japan, may be accessed in the UNESCO Bangkok site (http://www.unescobkk.org).
However, this blog will not only be limited towards featuring content about these action plans. Other content, which are related to the mission of the LBD Forum, will also be welcome in this site. Writers who wish to share articles, events, news bits about environmental breakthroughs and other related matter will be gladly accommodated in this webpage. Since each LBD Youth Forum was a forum that gathered young people from around the world who shared both their experiences of disasters and their aspirations to strengthen community resilience, this blog shall also aim to do the same. Hopefully, this blog will also be able to gather young voices from around the world to share and exchange their experiences, knowledge and activities about disaster management and prevention, as well as community resilience building.
To the General Reader:
One of the main reasons why this blog has been set-up is in order to also reach out to people beyond the LBD Youth Forum. Because each person is a steward of this earth, let us all work together towards this common mission. Your views and comments are also welcome in this site!
